Man eats winning ticket

AN AIRLINE passenger became so irate that he could not claim his 10,000 euros ($15,000) winning scratch card when on board the flight that he took rather odd action.

Cabin crew on Thursday’s FR1724 flight from Krakow, Poland, to the U.K.'s East Midlands airport congratulated the winner and advised him to claim his prize directly from the company which runs the lottery, as it was such a large sum.

But he apparently became so upset that he was not able to collect the prize mid-flight that he decided to digest his winning scratch card ... invalidating his claim.

The airline was asking visitors to its website to decide which charity should get the €10,000 prize.

"Passengers have always been delighted to claim their large cash prizes after returning home," Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara said.

"Unfortunately our latest winner felt that we should have his €10,000 prize kicking around on the aircraft."

St. Thomas

Everyone has their own vision of the perfect dream home, but to say something is a dream, makes the idea appear so far in the future. So I chose to imagine in the now,as if I already have achieved my goals,my perfect home.
This home is a beautiful hillside mansion on the Virgin Islands of St. Thomas.

A Royal Tribute

Today I'd like to pay tribute to a fanominal woman "Princess Diana". She was not only beautiful, but also a loving mother and charitable woman. The aristocracy spent hundreds of years building a holier than thou reputation, only to be over shined by the true definition of Royalty....the love of people.

Wild side

Had a great time today visiting "Binder Park Zoo" then ate dinner at Popeye's Chicken then cooled off at home in the air-conditioning drinking a rum and diet coke....ahhh! Good times.

Fire! Fire!

Early this morning, the entire complex was awakened by firemen pounding on tenants doors shouting "Your neighbors balcony is on fire...you have to evacuate the building!" We scrambled in a panic, each grabbing what we thought was important and hurried outside. The hallway was filled with smoke and the smell of chard embers as worried tenants rush to safety with their pets. It appeared to be an electrical fire, from the damage done to the outer wall. Luckily no one or their pets were hurt.

Lucky Rock

The day after St. Patricks Day,my dog Montana and I went for a midnight stroll around the apartment complex. The moonlit sky drew my attention to the glare of an oddly shaped river rock nestled in a blanket of wet grass. Days later,I began to notice good things happening in my life, like unexpected money or an extra vacation day given back to me, by my boss.
I associated this run of good luck to the the rock I found previously and kept the river rock with me at all times. Then one day as I was leaving for work, the rock had fell through a hole in my pocket without me noticing until I had gotten to work. The following morning, I pulled into the closest parking spot I could find to my apartment and as I opened my car door...there was my lucky rock, waiting beside my vehicle, like an old friend coming to visit. It's my lucky day.

Once upon a time

For the past few days,I have been tossing around the idea of writing a book. I wasn't quite sure what type of book I wanted write, until I remembered a screen play I had written before...so I immediately started revising certain story lines and began to write.

Starry Night

When it came time to walk the dog,I made my way down the three flights of stairs of my apartment building and headed toward the dog park. As Montana was busy sniffing the ground and doing his business,I glanced upwards at the night sky. The stars appeared brighter than usual and the air smelled like pine. It was so quiet and peaceful...I felt free.

Mistaken identity

Today as I was walking my roommates dog,I was approached by a stranger who seemed oddly interested in my roommates dog "Frank". The stranger began questioning me about the dogs age and personality traits, trying to appear as a mere dog lover...but it was obvious he was fishing for more. The stranger nonchalantly mentioned how similar "Frank" looked to his friends dog "Bear" and after a few awkward moments of silence,I politely walked "Frank" back to my apartment building.
I wasn't quite sure how to react to the entire situation, not knowing the circumstances of the other dog in question. I just hope that whoever the strangers friend may be, will once again be reunited with his dog "Bear".

Racial profiling

Arizona past a law allowing police officers to pull over anyone suspected of being an illegal alien. Shortly afterwards, I over heard several opinions discussed about the subject.
For example:
"If they have nothing to hide, then they shouldn't worry about it."
Well to those of you who feel the same way...let me ask you this?
What if you were on your way to work and you got pulled over and questioned because of the color of your skin, even though you were born and raised here?
And because of the delay, you were then late for work. Would it matter then?
All too often we tend to look the other way when an injustice is being committed, either because we don't care or because we are not the target. Wake up America,if we allow our neighbors to be stripped of their rights for whatever reason...how long will it be till they come after you?

Facebook Faces FTC Complaint

Privacy groups tell the Federal Trade Commission and Congress that the social network is violating consumer protection laws.

Fifteen privacy and consumer protection organizations -- including the Electronic Privacy Information Center, the Center for Digital Democracy, the Consumer Federation of America, and the U.S. Public Interest Research Group -- Wednesday filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and sent a letter to Congress that charges Facebook with engaging in unfair and deceptive trade practices in violation of consumer protection law.

"Facebook continues to manipulate the settings of users and its own privacy policy so that it can take personal information provided by users for a limited purpose and make it widely available for a commercial purpose," said the complaint letter to Congress. "In fact, this complaint also speaks to a growing concern about the ability of the FTC to protect American consumers as new business practices emerge."

The move came on the same day that Facebook temporarily shut down its chat feature after finding a security hole that enabled users see friends' private instant messages.

This latest salvo against Facebook's privacy procedures claims that changes to user profile information and the subsequent disclosure of user data to other parties without users' consent "violate user expectations, diminish user privacy, and contradict Facebook's own representations," said Marc Rotenberg, executive director of complainant Electronic Privacy Information Center, in a statement.

The complaint asks the FTC to scrutinize Facebook's privacy processes and to order the social networking site to better protect users' information and communications against security breaches. In part, the move came about because of Facebook's recent rollout of a feature that lets users tell members of their network about products and Web sites they like.

“Facebook now discloses personal information to the public that Facebook users previously restricted," according to EPIC.

In April, Senators Charles Schumer, Michael Bennet, Mark Begich, and Al Franken wrote to Facebook, voicing their concerns about "recent changes to the Facebook privacy policy and the use of personal data by third-party Web sites." The impetus behind the letter: Facebook's announced plan to disclose user data to Web sites without obtaining account holders' permission.

"Previously, users had the ability to determine what information they chose to share and what information they wanted to keep private," Schumer said in a statement.

Joining the gym

Today I signed up for a free week trial at "Anytime Fitness". Since I work 12 hour days and my free time is so random....I decided that this gym would fit my schedule much better than the others. I have to admit that I hate to workout...I like being lazy and watching t.v. but even too much of a good thing can be bad for you. So once my favorite pants started tightening around my waist,I decided to make the conscience effort to get back to my goal weight. Acceptable.
If I decide that I like the gym and I believe that I will continue the routine....I will sign up for a more permanent arrangement.

Money or No money

What if money wasn't worth anything anymore? What if how you needed to survive was by your personal skill and talent? Could you survive? Could you offer your neighbor what he or she needed to pay for what you needed to survive?

Life vs. Living

Once I came across this picture on the internet,I stopped to think about life. What are we working for? Are we living the life that we thought we would be living, when we were in high school? Are we living life or is life living us?
Life was meant to be abundant and we can have everything we want in life, if we just keep our goals in front of us, instead of saying one day I will achieve this lifestyle. In order to make things happen,we need to believe in the possibility and trust that we can achieve these goals. Make a conscience effort to do at least one thing everyday to reach your goal...and don't ask negative people for advice. Because they will just make you second guess yourself.

Trip to the vet

Today I had to take my dog Montana to the vet. At first, he was happy and excited to get out of the house and easily jumped into the car. Once at the vets,Montana became very suspicious and began to pace in a panic. The kind mannered vet approached Montana using her softest baby voice, but Montana wasn't buying it. As soon as I placed the muzzle on Montana's face....the drama began. Luckily, the doctor was quick and professional, making the visit as uneventful as possible.
As Montana and I were waiting by the register,a fellow animal lover approached Montana with her own dog. I was busy paying for the visit not realizing what was going on behind me. I was shocked to see Montana nose to nose with another dog. My heart skipped a beat, knowing Montana's past history with other dog's. If I were to react to the situation, Montana would have lunged at the unsuspecting friendly dog,so I froze...standing completely still,I waited to see the result of this meeting. As soon as Montana's back hair began to rise and the warning sound of a growl emerged...we quickly separated the dogs. Thankfully no one was hurt, but to those of you pet owners out there who have well behaved dogs...FYI...not all dogs get along at first sight...so please don't assume that your pet will be welcomed by every dog. Ask the owner first, thank you.

It's my business

In today's economy, people are more nervous about how they are going to pay the bills. Then to add insult to injury, hard working Americans are informed that the company they dedicated their lives too are closing their doors and moving to another state, leaving their faithful employees to fend for themselves.
At this point, the frantic blue collars are forced to make one of three choices...1.collect unemployment/go back to school 2. Apply for a lesser paying job or 3. Start a business.
Granted, there may be a chosen few who will land on their feet quickly and find a great opportunity. But for the most part, most Americans will fall under these three categories. So which do you do? I chose to start my own business.
Why wait for another dead end job to choose me out of a thousand applicants. Only to treat me like a piece of machinery without a life.
I would rather call the shots in how much I make per year and when I can take a vacation day, without fear of a write up.
Sink or swim...I choose to fight for my own happiness.

Sudden changes

A coworker/friend and now roommate of mine, recently went through a bad breakup. I tried to explain to my roommate that "Things happen for a reason, and that life will get better."
For several days afterwards,I would patiently listen to my roommates complaints about the breakup, which would repeatedly turn into a roller coaster of emotions...finally ending with a sigh of relief and a thank you. He started working out and dieting with a vengeance and caring more about his appearance. As his confidence returned, I noticed him smiling and laughing a bit more often as he began to go out on dates. It was good to see him back to his old self again...I hope he walks away from this experience a bit stronger and hopefully a bit wiser.
"Life has a way of working itself out."

Busy busy busy

After working a full twelve hour shift last night,my only thought was to get home, take a quick shower and just relax. Once I got comfortable on the couch,Terry informed me of several business meetings we had in just a few hours. I decided to take a quick nap,so I would be more alert for our appointments...but instead it made me feel more sleepy. I kept yawning through the meeting and forcing my eyes to focus. Thankfully the meetings went well and our clients were pleased with our work.
The moment I got back home,I threw myself on the couch and fell asleep for most of the day. I love sleep.

Jackpot

Everyday on the way to work,I stop at a local convenience store to buy a lottery ticket in hopes of winning the "Big"one. I rarely choose my own numbers...I like the easy picks. To increase my chances of winning,I carry around a small rock that I found as lucky charm...and every time that I reach in my pocket, the lucky charm reminds me of my goal of winning the lottery. I then begin to imagine all the things I will buy as if I all ready won. Some call this the "Law of attraction".

Stormy Night

Last night, after I got home early from work...my roommates dog "Frank" needed to got out. I could hear the thunder in the distance, so I knew that it was just a matter of time before it started to rain. I walked Frank down the three flights of stairs and headed towards the dog park. Shortly after, lightning lit up the nights sky and Frank immediately turned around and headed back towards the apartment complex. Even though his reaction was rather humorous to me...I trusted Franks intuition and followed closely behind him, to safety.
